Behavior and Health Assessment

Don’t miss the most critical piece of your dog’s behavior plan.

What if I told you that pain in dogs shows up as common behavior problems like jumping, barking, and even biting?

It’s true. Many common behavior issues can be signs of discomfort:

  • Restlessness or inability to settle even after plenty of exercise

  • Jumping, mouthing, barking, leash biting, and behaviors we call “high arousal”

  • Change in demeanor around other dogs, including aggression (growling, barking, lunging)

  • Sound sensitivity; handling sensitivity

  • Stalling or stopping on walks; fearfulness

  • Aggression; resource guarding

  • Pulling on leash and “over excitement” in different environments

(Don’t take my word for it, read this study)

If you miss these signs of discomfort, your training will miss the mark.

Does this resonate?

  • Your dog has complex behavior needs and you’re not making as much progress as you’d like

  • You have a gut feeling your dog might experiencing discomfort, but your concerns have been dismissed and you don’t know what to do

  • Your dog has a condition that impacts their behavior and you want to know how to support them

  • You’ve heard about the importance of ruling out medical concerns before starting a training plan, but don’t know where to start

If this is you, then the Behavior and Health Assessment is the place to start.

What is it:

A one-of-a-kind comprehensive look at your dog’s behavior, mobility, and day-to-day wellness to identify potential discomfort and its impacts on behavior.

How it works:

✓ We meet and dive into your dog’s behavior history, daily routine, and all the quirks that make them who they are. Small things tell a big story.

✓ You gather photos and videos of your dog’s posture, gait, and daily activities. Observing your dog in their daily environment will give us the most accurate infuriation. It’s also hands-off and stress free.

✓ I study all the info and put together a detailed report you can share with your vet and other professionals. We make a health and behavior plan that charts a clear path forward.

the assessment includes:

  • 1:1 initial virtual consult (60-90 minutes)

  • 3+ hours of photo and video analysis done by me

  • A comprehensive written report with corresponding photo and video evidence detailing your dog’s functional assessment and recommendations for next steps

  • 1:1 follow-up virtual consult (30-60 minutes) to go over the assessment

  • Follow-up plan that provides next steps for addressing health and behavior needs

  • Lifetime access to a private client portal with essential health and behavior resources you can trust

The assessment will give you:

Clear and concrete evidence so you can confidently advocate for your dog when pursuing treatment options.

The missing piece that will finally make your training and behavior plan successful.

Peace of mind knowing you have what you need to help your dog now and in the future.

A better understanding of how to spot signs of discomfort and what to do about it going forward.

The ability to cut through the noise and take the right next steps for your dog.

Continued support: book a flexible follow-up session anytime or shoot me an email. You’ll always have a trusted professional in your corner.

“We had previously discussed pain management with our vet who prescribed meds, but no particular treatment. The assessment helped us to understand what to look for when assessing pain in our dog. The report allowed us to get an orthopedic consult and treatment for our dog.” - Alexis B.

“We took Barley to the vet about a year ago when he stopped getting into the car. We told the vet our concerns and he did a basic assessment in the exam room and told us he noticed no signs of pain. This assessment will significantly help us advocate for Barley at his next vet appointment by utilizing Jenny’s well-educated knowledge to recommend next steps of a pain med trial or further diagnostics.” - Samantha D.
